So California General Elections are tomorrow, and guess what, I can't vote. So I figured I'd contribute in my own special way, through a blog. I'll share my view on each proposition and hopefully someone will agree and "vote for me" so-to-speak; surrogate voting.
I'm just glad my mom is voting this time around *yay*. It's her first time, but not by choice. She just became a citizen last year. Her native land isn't Mexico, or any other latin-based country as some may think; it's above the northern border, she hails from Canadia.
To be honest though, I'm starting to hate politics now.

Here we go...
Prop 1A: High-Speed Passenger Train Bond Act
Yes. Why not? If it lessens freeway traffic, I'm all for it. Not that this change will take place any time soon. :/
Prop 2: Standards for Confining Farm Animals
Yes. Animals cannot vote, so we must in their favor. If we're going to slaughter and eat these animals that spend their whole lives in cages, they better live a damn good life. I told my mom that I'll vow veganism if this prop does not pass.
Prop 3: Children's Hospital Bond Act
Yes. I love kids, and anything that benefits them is great.
Prop 4: Waiting Period and Parental Notification before Termination Yes. All minors cannot undergo any medical procedure without parental consent, unless of course they are either emancipated or claim financial independence (very rare). Why should an abortion be any different?
Prop 5: Nonviolent Drug Offenses. Sentencing, Parole and Rehabilitation
Yes. Here comes my inner leftist democrat self (as opposed to my somewhat moderate democrat self) surfacing. I believe there are two purposes to incarceration: rehabilitation and a place to wait for death. I don't believe most criminals are able to be rehabilitated, but a chance should always be given, especially to nonviolent drug offenses. Rapists, pedophiles, and murders can rot there for all I care, in fact, if I had it my way, they'd all be on death-row. :)
Prop 6: Police and Law Enforcement Funding
Yes. This is where my inner republican makes an appearance.
Prop 7: Renewable Energy Generation
Yes. Sounds good to me.
Prop 8: Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry
No. This is an ignorant amendment and a clear infringement on civil rights. When's the last time anyone has learned about marriage in school or any of that bull$@!# the Yes-ers are claiming? No where does it say they have to be married in a church (for us christians). Voting No simply means that same-sex marriage will be viewed in the same financial/social/political light as "traditional" marriage. But personally, lately, I've found more love in gay homes than I've found in straight ones. 'Nuff said.
Prop 9: Criminal Justice System. Victim's Rights
Yes. Keep the victim's safe.
Prop 10: Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Renewable Energy
No. There's too much money being given to research here. Prop 7 takes care of renewable energy with it's "20% domestically generated" clause. America is not freeing itself from oil-independence any time soon.
Prop 11: Redistricting
Not sure what to think about this one.. too confusing.
Prop 12: Veteran's Bond Act of 2008
Yes. G.I. Bill folks. Keep it alive, keep it strong!
Presidential Candidates:
Barak Obama | Joe Biden. I don't want to go to war.. Sorry McCain.
